Terms of Service

Welcome to Rethread! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rethread ("the Platform"), a multi-vendor marketplace that facilitates the buying and selling of second-hand school uniforms and related items.

By using Rethread, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

• User Roles & Eligibility

  1. Anyone can sell on Rethread after completing the "Start Selling" process, which includes providing a valid payout method (bank details, with PayPal support coming soon) and agreeing to these Terms.
  2. Users must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. Minors may only use the Platform under the supervision of a parent or guardian, who must oversee shipping or in-person transactions.

• Platform Responsibilities

  1. Rethread acts solely as a marketplace facilitator and does not directly handle disputes between buyers and sellers. We hold payments in escrow until the transaction is marked as completed. Chargebacks occurring after the buyer has received the item will be reported to relevant authorities.
  2. Rethread holds funds after checkout and releases them to the seller based on the payment release terms outlined below.

• Fees & Payments

  1. Rethread charges a 3% commission fee, which is deducted from the sale price before the seller is paid.
  2. Sellers will receive their payout 3 days after the buyer confirms receipt of the item. If the buyer does not confirm receipt, funds will be automatically released 2 weeks after the seller marks the item as sent or traded, unless a dispute is raised.
  3. There are no additional payment processing fees for buyers or sellers.

• Dispute Resolution

  1. If disputes arise, buyers and sellers should attempt to resolve them via Rethread’s messaging system. If no resolution is reached, users may escalate disputes by contacting [email protected] with transaction details.
  2. Rethread will review escalated disputes but does not guarantee refunds or enforcement actions. We may take discretionary action based on our findings.

• Returns & Refunds

  1. All sales are final. Rethread does not offer refunds for items that have been received by the buyer. Buyers purchase items at their own risk.
  2. Refunds, if any, must be negotiated directly between the buyer and the seller.

• Shipping & Pickup

  1. Sellers must mark items as "shipped" or "picked up" once they have been sent or picked up by the buyer. They must also provide tracking information if available or at least disclose the shipping provider used (e.g., AusPost). Sellers are responsible for estimating shipping costs, which will be charged as a flat $8 per item to buyers at checkout.
  2. If an item is not shipped or traded within two (2) weeks, the order will be automatically cancelled, and the buyer will receive a full refund.

• Account & Platform Rules

  1. Rethread reserves the right to suspend or ban users engaged in fraud, multiple disputes, or misconduct. We may also report such cases to relevant authorities.
  2. Only school uniforms and related items (e.g., footwear, accessories) are permitted on the Platform. Listings for unrelated items may be removed.

• Liability & Indemnification

  1. Rethread is not responsible for any losses, damages, or disputes arising from transactions. Buyers and sellers assume all responsibility for their transactions.
  2. By using the Platform, users waive all claims against Rethread related to their transactions, including but not limited to disputes, lost shipments, and misrepresented items.

• Intellectual Property & Listings

  1. Rethread reserves the right to approve, reject, or remove listings that violate guidelines, appear fraudulent, or have disproportionate pricing/shipping fees.
  2. Rethread may use user-generated content (e.g., listing descriptions, photos) for marketing and promotional purposes, including advertisements.

• Privacy & Data

  1. Rethread collects and stores user data, including names, emails, addresses, and optional family member data (for streamlined purchases). Seller bank details are encrypted and cannot be viewed by Rethread staff.
  2. Messages between buyers and sellers are stored and encrypted. However, Rethread retains the right to access these messages to review disputes or policy violations.

• Changes to Terms

  1. Rethread may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
